Breaking basic road rules contributes to thousands of avoidable crashes in South Australia, resulting in injuries and fatalities every year. For example, most people know that they should not use their mobile phone whilst driving – but did you know that at 60km/h your vehicle is travelling at over 16 metres per second? Taking your eyes off of the road for just three seconds to read a text means that you will travel 50 metres without looking at the road.
