The library world’s about to get a lot more amazing.
It’s just 10 weeks until the Library jumps on board with the One Card project. Over 100 South Australian libraries have already signed up for the project, which will be rolled out over the next three years.
What does this mean for us?
We’re getting a new Library Management System (LMS) – the system we use to hold our item and borrower information, check out your books, send your overdue notices and reserve items for you. This is a big change that we’re long overdue for (pardon the pun), and we’re excited! Staff members are already going to training sessions about the new LMS and how to use it. We won’t be experts on it straight away, so it will be a learning curve for everyone.
What does this mean for you?
You will no longer have to visit multiple libraries to get your books, DVDs and other items. This new system will give you access to a much larger library service with millions of items – and you can get it all with one library card.
We’ll be keeping you updated all the way up to the ‘go live’ date, so stay tuned for more information. If you have any questions, please ask a staff member when you next visit the Library – or leave us a comment here.
