Library Pets Part 1: Denzi and Lucy

From the number of books about animals checked in and out of the library, we know a lot of you out there have pets that you love. A lot of us in here do too. So, inspired by the Wine Dogs books, calendars and website, we thought we’d introduce a regular feature here at Off The Shelf: Library Pets.

Denzi and Lucy

Names: Denzi (left, male) and Lucy (right, female)
Breed: Pomeranian
Ages: Denzi = 16 years, Lucy = 17 years
Owner: Dawn (Tech Services Supervisor)
Relationship: Like an old married couple
Favourite pastime: sleeping, eating (cooked chicken, beef, lamb of human grade and quality – dog meat or canned food barely rates a sniff) and more sleeping.
Most notorious deed: Denzi’s was grabbing a brown snake in his mouth by the tail (in the garden) and shaking it from side to side.
Lucy’s was when she decided to take off for a walk by herself up the road when it was dark (she can’t see too well any more) when the gate was accidentally left open. Hard to find a black dog in the dark!
