If you are looking for something exciting to do on the night of Friday 6th August, look no further than the City Of Tea Tree Gully Library’s “Friday Night Live” celebrations. “Friday Night Live” is the official launch of The City of Tea Tree Gully’s first ever Reader’s Festival, an event which celebrates the joy of reading over two fun filled days of exciting programs for adults, families and young people. The evening kicks off at 5pm in the Library’s Relaxed Reading Area with the opportunity to meet South Australian publishers and booksellers as they showcase new release titles in a range of formats and titles for all ages. This is your chance to be the first to get your hands on the latest bestsellers! You are then invited to stay for the official launch, a celebration of the ‘Joy of Reading’. The wonderful world of reading comes to life with live performances, the opportunity to speak with local authors, publishers and community groups, and share stories with the City of Tea Tree Gully Library Service. The winners of the primary and high school art competition for interpretation of the ‘Joy of Reading’ will be announced, and there will be guest speakers including prominent local authors and self help groups talking about the benefits of reading, with refreshments being served through the evening. No bookings are required. So join us in celebrating the wonderful, exciting and interesting world of books and reading. We would love to see you there!
