Writers’ Week

It’s been a while since I’ve posted, but there is so much happening at the moment it’s hard to keep track of everything!  The Adelaide Festival and Fringe is always a highlight – but for anyone who has a love of reading, Writers’ Week is the pinnacle event in the Festival calendar every two years.

For me attending Writer’s Week is not always about listening to authors whose books I’ve read, but the inspiration they provide to explore new or unheard of titles.  I attended on Sunday and listened to the following authors

  • Audrey Niffenegger – Popular author of the Time Traveller’s Wife.
  • Sarah Dunant – recent novels set in the Renaissance.
  • Geoff Dyer – writer of non fiction, reccent novel is his first foray into fiction.
  • Sarah Waters – Her novel Fingersmith was shortlisted for the Booker Prize.

However, there is still a couple of days left to discover new authors.  The program is available on-line here.
