Audrey Niffenegger, is best known as the author of the hugely popular The Time Traveler’s Wife, but is also a widely acclaimed visual artist. Her artwork came to attention when she began exhibiting in 1987 and has published several books of her painting and drawings since then. She has also illustrated several graphic novels and had originally planned The Time Traveler’s Wife to be a graphic novel, but felt that ‘it is very difficult to represent sudden time shifts with still images.’
She recently published her second novel Her Fearful Symmetry and is currently working on her third The Chincilla Girl in Exile in between lecturing at Columbia College, painting and drawing and giving the occasional guided tour of Highgate Cemetery in London.
The Time Traveler’s Wife has just been released as a film starring Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams, and to celebrate, the library is running a competition where you can win a copy of the book and a double pass to Hoyts Tea Tree Plaza!
