Zines are a form of published self expression. Zines are a way to get the word out in an environment of censorship. Zines generally have a readership of less than 5000 and are photocopied or printed by amateurs. Zines are easy and fun to make! On Saturday August 15th from 1.00pm join Jocelyn Munro for a hands-on workshop creating your own Zine from written word and recycled materials. This workshop will provide all the materials you need to get your ideas and words out there! Jocelyn will guide you through the history of the zine, its rise in popularity during the depression and how it is an accepted form of literature today. Further details and bookings on 8397 7333.
Brilliant! Good to see one of our local city councils getting into the swing of the zine thing! 🙂 We tweeted this out and posted it on our FB page too.
cheers
