Last night saw over 150 children and parents swarm into the library for an invitation only evening of games! As the grand finale of the Summer Reading Program, and the culmination of many weeks of school holiday activities, the library was transformed into an arena of games and activites. ‘Get in the game’ was the theme for this Summer, with Diana putting on several rounds of the hugely popular Library Game Show, in conjunction with internet sessions of Runescape, giant checkers, othello, ludo, paper planes, cards, battleship, hopscotch, and a myriad of other games hosted by a collection of gaming characters, including Goku and Lara Croft! 
The winners of the Lego competition were announced and presented with their prizes. Carter Smith and Joseph Bullock (above left) both collected prizes as did members of the Ramsay family (above right). An excellent evening enjoyed by all!
Off the Shelf 
There are moments where I think to myself ” I might go for a wander and see what is going on in the Library”….yet again I was blown away! The costumes, the energy, the complete and utter complexity of everything that was going on…and all with a smile, and a wee nod of the head. I wish sometimes that I was 5 years old again 🙂
