Poetry Slam is coming!

Poetry Slam 2008The City of Tea Tree Gully Library is hosting the first heat of this national event on Wednesday 29 October from 6.30pm!

Be enthralled as local poets, writers and lyricists compete against each other for a chance to represent South Australia at the national final. Thought provoking and mind opening, Poetry Slam is guaranteed to stir your emotions as we showcase a range of local creative talent.

Entrants have two minutes to win you and the judges over as they speak, sing, rap, yell or whisper their words. The two top placed performers earn a chance to compete in the SA final at the State Library! A wine and cheese supper will be offered, so come along for an amazing evening as our local poets Slam it out!

Check our Library News and Events webpage for further details, rules and pre-reg forms are available to download if you’d like to enter.

  1. One of the cool things about Poetry Slam is that judges are randomly selected from the audience. You can say no if you are happy to watch, but I like that anyone can be a judge, and have an impact on who goes through to the state final! You don’t have to know anything about poetry or spoken word, just score according to what you like.
